15 March 2026 | International Collaboration
Northern Kuala Lumpur International College (NKL) has officially sent off its third cohort of students to China, marking another milestone in the college’s commitment to international education and global academic collaboration.
The students departed in March 2026 to pursue further studies at Zhejiang Financial College, located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, one of China’s leading institutions in finance and business education. The programme forms part of NKL’s international academic pathway designed to provide students with cross-border learning opportunities and broader global exposure.
This latest cohort represents an important achievement for NKL’s internationalisation strategy and highlights the growing academic partnership between Malaysia and China.
A Dual-Country Learning Experience
Under the Malaysia–China dual-country study pathway, students complete the first phase of their studies in Malaysia before continuing their academic programme in China. This structure enables students to benefit from two distinct educational environments while developing global perspectives and professional competencies.
The pathway offers a balanced combination of academic progression and international exposure, equipping students with valuable skills for future careers in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
Strengthening Malaysia–China Educational Collaboration
NKL has consistently been committed to strengthening higher education collaboration between Malaysia and China. Through structured curriculum articulation, academic support systems, and strategic partnerships with reputable Chinese institutions, NKL provides students with seamless opportunities to pursue international education.
The collaboration with Zhejiang Financial College reflects NKL’s long-term vision of creating sustainable international academic pathways that allow students to enhance both their qualifications and global competitiveness.
Key Advantages of the Programme
Students participating in the programme benefit from several key advantages:
- One year of study in Malaysia followed by one and a half years in China
• A structured dual-diploma academic pathway
• Internationalised curriculum incorporating AI-enhanced learning approaches
• Opportunities for cross-cultural learning and international exposure
• Expanded global employment and career development prospects
A Meaningful Milestone for Students
Prior to departure, NKL’s management and academic staff gathered to extend their warm wishes and encouragement to the students. The college expressed confidence that the students will embrace the new learning environment, excel academically, and grow both professionally and personally.
The students are expected to serve as future ambassadors of Malaysia–China educational exchange, strengthening cultural understanding and academic cooperation between the two countries.
Looking Ahead
NKL remains dedicated to nurturing globally competent graduates and will continue to expand its network of international academic partnerships. By creating more overseas study opportunities, the college aims to equip students with the knowledge, adaptability, and international outlook needed to succeed in a globalised world.
The departure of the third cohort of students represents another step forward in NKL’s mission to provide internationally connected education pathways for Malaysian and international students.
✨ NKL wishes all students every success in their academic journey and a bright future ahead.
