Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology held a grand opening ceremony on September 19, 2024, for the Mandarin Language and Cultural Exchange, themed “Moving Forward Hand in Hand, Opening a New Chapter.” The event was co-hosted by Professor Dr. Jimmy Lim Siau Shiong, Founder and President of Northern Kuala Lumpur International College, and Mr Xie Yonghua, Party Secretary and President of Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology. Dato Nick Ng, Founding President and President of Chinese Entrepurener Association Kuala Lumpur And Selangor (CEAKLS), also co-hosted the event.
This important event attracted key guests from the education and business sectors of both China and Malaysia. Some of the speakers included Mr Wang Huichang, Director of the Asia-Africa Department of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Education; En. Abdul Aziz bin Hashim, Executive Director of the Kuala Lumpur Education Department; and Ms Shi Yunyun, Director of International Cooperation from the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, who delivered speeches online. Additionally, 30 teachers and students from Malaysia, along with the Mandarin Language and Cultural Exchange teaching team, participated in the event.
This study camp was an exciting adventure for the students! They explored innovative companies like the BYD New Energy Vehicle Brand Center, Bagualzhou Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park, and Anrui Technology Co. During these visits, they discovered the cutting-edge technology behind new energy vehicles and learned about their bright future. They also dived into the world of cross-border e-commerce and experienced how modern manufacturing is becoming more automated. This hands-on experience gave them fantastic insights into the latest trends in Industry 4.0!
In addition to visiting these impressive companies, the students embarked on an exciting journey through history at remarkable sites like Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum, Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, Nanjing Fuzimiao, and East Zhonghua Gate Historical Culture Block! They soaked up the rich culture and fascinating stories of China.
But that’s not all! The study camp also featured fun and practical classes. They explored “Shopee & Lazada Operations Training,” where they learned how to use e-commerce platforms and master marketing strategies, they unleashed their creativity to enhance their store designs and user experiences. Plus, they had a blast in a “Chinese Calligraphy Experience Class,” where they discovered the beauty of the Chinese language through art. It was a perfect mix of learning and fun!
The collaboration between the two schools has created a unique learning platform for students, greatly enhancing academic and cultural exchange. This partnership signifies a deeper relationship between the two institutions. In the future, Northern Kuala Lumpur International College and Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology will continue to work together, launching more international education projects and providing students with even more valuable opportunities for overseas study.
